Inside Man
Ben Pundole is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of A Hotel Life, with 25 years in the luxury/lifestyle hotel business focusing on delivering experience, as well as F&B, events, marketing, partnerships, and beyond. Pundole’s passion for travel and hotels began when he was a boy watching his father run a small hotel in the English countryside, and led him to begin working with Ian Schrager in 1999; he currently holds the position of VP Brand Experience for Edition hotels.
Starting at the age of 18 as a cellar man then bartender and eventually manager at the Groucho Club in London, Pundole went on to run the Met Bar in one of London’s first boutique hotels. Eventually, Amy Sacco—of Bungalow 8 fame—moved him to New York City in 1998 to run her first project, Lot 61. Pundole’s latest cause is one he’s most passionate about: taking single-use plastics out of the hotel industry. In 2017, he started a campaign called Stay Plastic Free.
