At the intersection of music and visuality comes the dynamic duo of Kurup & Jaçira. The two combine their solo projects to make live performances that mix the sounds of acoustic and digital instruments, taking the listener on a deep dive into the neo-folklore experience. Wearing bold make-up and custom outfits that they themselves have conceived, the pair presents a show that is performance-art-meets-body-expression. Their sound—exemplified by synthetic tones inspired by and presented in old musical traditions—is comprised of dreams, fantasy, and fiction. Born in Brasília, Brazil, and founders of Limbo Collective, Kurup & Jaçira are now based in Porto, Portugal.
